Applications in the prescribed format are invited for filling up the following posts in the National Institute of Siddha, on Direct Recruitment /Deputation Basis:

 1)      Professor: 04 posts (01 post on direct recruitment basis in the Department of  Gunapadam and 03 posts on deputation basis in the Department of  Nanju Noolum Maruthuva Neethi Noolum -01/Noi Naadal-01/Kuzhandai Maruthuvam-01.

      Scale of Pay: Rs.37400-67000 with Grade Pay: Rs.8700 +NPA.

1. Professor-04 Posts(01 post is on direct recruitment basis & 03 posts are on deputation basis):

b. Educational Qualification & Experience:

i.  PG qualification in Siddha in the concerned subject recognized by CCIM. ii) Working as Professor in Govt. of TN or 05 years as Reader (Associate Professor) in PG teaching in the concerned subject or 08 years combined experience in PG teaching in the subject concerned as Reader/Asso. Professor/Lecturer in Govt. of TN and Research & Administration.

iii. Desirable:

a. Ph.D in Siddha b. extensive experience in research/administration c. working knowledge in Tamil & English.

c. Maximum Age limit: 55 Yrs. (for direct recruits) & 56 years as on 01.01.2012 in case of deputation.

2. Associate Professor: 08 Posts (05 posts are on direct recruitment basis, out of which, one post is reserved for OBC & 03 posts are on deputation basis):

a. Scale of Pay: Rs. 15600-39100 with Grade Pay: Rs.7600+NPA.

b. Educational Qualification & Experience:

    i. PG qualification in Siddha in the concerned subject recognized by CCIM. ii)    Combined 05 years teaching experience after acquiring M.D(S) as lecturer/Asst.lecturer in Govt. of TN/lecturer in any teaching institution recognized by the Govt. of TN, CCIM and the TN Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and above

   iii. Desirable:

   a. extensive experience in research/administration. b. Working knowledge in     Tamil & English.

c. Maximum Age limit: 50 years. (for direct recruits) & 56 years as on 01.01.2012 in case of deputation.

3. Assistant Professor (Radiology): 01 Post (on deputation basis):

a. Scale of Pay: Rs. 15600-39100 with Grade Pay: Rs.6600 + NPA.

b. Educational Qualification and Experience:

    i.) M.B.B.S. with DMRD. Desirable: M.D. (Radiology).

   ii.) Faculty members/officers in recognized Medical Colleges in the Pay Scale of

         Rs.8000-13500 (Revised Scale: Rs.15600-39100 with Grade Pay: Rs.5400).

 c. Maximum Age limit: 55 years as on 28.01.2012.

 4. Assistant Professor (Pathology):01 Post (on deputation basis):

a. Scale of Pay: Rs.15600-39100with Grade Pay: Rs.6600+NPA

b. Educational Qualification:

    i.)  M.D. (pathology) or Post-Graduate Diploma in Pathology.

c. Maximum Age limit: 55 years as on 28.01.2012.

5. Assistant Professor (Forensic Medicine):01 Post(on deputation basis):

a. Scale of Pay: Rs.15600-39100 with Grade Pay: Rs.6600+NPA.

b. Educational Qualification:

    i.) M.D. Forensic Medicine/Forensic Pathology.

c. Maximum Age limit: 55 years as on 28.01.2012.

 6. Assistant Professor (Modern Medicine):01 Post (on deputation basis):

a. Scale of Pay: Rs.15600-39100 with Grade Pay: Rs.6600+NPA.

b. Educational Qualification:

    i.)  M.D. (General Medicine)/Internal Medicine or Post-Graduate Diploma in General Medicine.

   ii.)  Faculty Members/Officers in recognized Medical Colleges. /Govt. Health Service in the Pay Scale of Rs. 8000-13500(Revised Scale Rs. 15600-39100 +5400).

c. Maximum Age limit: 55 years as on 28.01.2012.

 7. Assistant Professor ((Physiology):01 Post (on deputation basis):

a. Scale of Pay: Rs.15600-39100 with Grade Pay: Rs. 6600+NPA (NPA is admissible only for the candidates qualified in B.S.M.S/M.D (Siddha) & M.B.B.S.

b. Educational Qualification:

    i.)  M.Sc. (Physiology) , Desirable: M.D. (Physiology).

   ii.)  Faculty Members/Officers in recognized Medical Colleges/Govt. Health Service in the Pay Scale of Rs. 8000-13500 (Revised Scale: Rs.15600-39100+5400).

c. Maximum Age limit: 55 years as on 28.01.2012.

 8. Deputy Director (Admin.): 01 Post( on deputation /direct recruitment basis):

a. Scale of Pay: Rs. 15600-39100 with Grade Pay: Rs.6600.

b. Educational Qualification and Experience: (for direct basis)

    i.   A degree from a recognized University. ii) atleast 9 years experience in a   responsible capacity in Central/State Govt./Semi.Govt./Departments of which atleast 06 years should be in a supervisory capacity. Iii) Adequate experience in personnel management with thorough knowledge of official procedures.

c. Experience: (for deputation):

i. 06 years experience as administrative officer.

ii. holding analogous post or 08 years experience in administration on supervisory capacity in the scale of pay of Rs.9300-34800 with Grade Pay: Rs.4600/-

d. Maximum Age limit: 45 years. (for direct recruits) & 56 years as on 01.01.2012 in case of deputation.

9. Accounts Officer: 01 Post (on deputation /direct recruitment basis):

a. Scale of Pay: Rs.9300-34800 with Grade Pay: Rs.4800.

b. Educational Qualification & Experience: (for direct recruit):

    i.  B.Com/M.Com with specialization in financial management. ii) B.Com with 08 years experience in Accounts Department in a Central/State/Autonomous/PSU in a supervisory capacity or M.Com with 05 years experience in Accounts Department in a Central/State/Autonomous/PSU in a supervisory capacity.

c. Desirable:

CA/ICWA Inter.

d. Educational Qualification & Experience: (for deputation)

     i. Atleast 08 years experience in a responsible capacity in Group:B post in Govt./Semi-Govt. department or Audit Dept. (Civil, P&T & Railways.). ii) Adequate experience in work relating to internal audit, Govt. procedures or budgetary control and accounts, knowledge of rules and regulations of Central Govt. etc.. iii) In order of preference will be given to CA/Cost Accountant trained in financial management/commerce graduate.

e. Maximum Age limit: 50 years. (for direct recruits) & 56 years as on 01.01.2012 (for deputation).

10. Store/Pharmacy Officer: 01 Post (on deputation basis):

a. Scale of Pay: Rs.9300-34800 with Grade Pay: Rs.4200.

b. Educational Qualification & Experience: (deputation)

    i.  Degree in Science  ii. Diploma in Siddha Pharmacy iii. Officers of Central Govt. /autonomous bodies/undertaking or private concern of repute holding analogous post or with 05 years regular service in the post of pharmacist (Siddha) in the grade pay of Rs.2800/- or 10 years regular service in the post of pharmacist (Siddha) in the grade pay of Rs.2400/- having experience in indenting, purchase and maintenance of Stores accounts in a responsible capacity in a Central Govt. /State Govt. or Public Body.

c. Maximum Age limit: 56 years as on 01.01.2012.

11. Statistical Asst.:01 Post (on deputation basis):

a. Scale of Pay: Rs.5200-20200 with Grade Pay: Rs.2800.

b. Educational Qualification:

    i) Master’s degree in Statistics, Maths with Statistics as one of the subjects or Graduate of recognized University with Statistics or Maths as subjects with 3 years experience in handling statistical data.

c. Maximum Age limit: 56 years as on 01.01.2012.

12. Lower Division Clerk: 01 Post(on direct recruitment basis):

a. Scale of Pay: Rs.5200-20200 with Grade Pay: Rs.1900.

b. Educational Qualification:

    i. Higher Secondary from a recognized State Board of Education. ii) Typing Speed prescribed as per DOPT norms.

c. Maximum Age limit: 28 years as on 01.01.2012.

 

General Instructions:

1)      The recruitment/appointment of the candidates in the Institute is governed by the NIS Service Rules 2004.

2)      The candidates appointed on direct recruitment in the Institute shall be governed by the New Pension Scheme which is in force at present.

3)      Candidates must have not attained the maximum age prescribed against each post. Age relaxation is applicable to various categories as per Government of India orders issued from time to time.

4)      The upper age limit prescribed shall be relaxable by 05 years in case of women candidates and there is no age bar to the employees of NIS.

5)      The persons working in the Central/State Govt./UTs/PSUs/Statutory or autonomous bodies and applying for the posts on direct basis should submit their applications only through proper channel.

6)      SC/ST community certificate should be signed by the appropriate authority of the State Govt. /UT.

7)      Candidates belonging to OBC category should furnish the OBC certificate in the format prescribed by the Govt. of India.

8)      The number of vacancies indicated is provisional and may vary at the discretion of the Competent Authority.

9)      Mere fulfilling the minimum prescribed qualification and experience will not vest any right to candidate for being called for interview.

10)  The Institute reserves the right to cancel or modify this notification without assigning any reason.

11)  The Institute reserves the right to shortlist candidates depending upon the no. of vacancies and application received etc. and also to decide the modalities for recruitment whether through interview or written test or both and the venue/schedule thereof.

12)  In case written test is conducted to shortlist candidates, the marks obtained in the written test together with the marks obtained in the interview will be taken into account in arriving the merit of the candidates.

13)  The Institute reserves the right to call for interview such of those candidates, who in its opinion, are found to be eligible. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained from the candidates.

14)  Persons working in the Central/State Govt./UTs/PSUs/Statutory or autonomous bodies only will be considered for the deputation posts.

15)  The persons working in the Central/State Govt./UTs/PSUs/Statutory or autonomous bodies and applying for deputation posts should submit their application along with up-to-date duly certified CR Dossiers of the last five years along with disciplinary/vigilance clearance. They should also submit a certificate from the employer to the effect that the particulars furnished by the officer are correct as per the record held in the office and no case is pending or contemplated against him/her.

16)  No travelling allowance is admissible to the candidates to attend for test/interview.

 17)  The cost of application is Rs.100/- each for teaching and non-teaching posts.

SC/ST candidates are exempted from application fee and they should produce an attested copy of the community certificate from the competent authority along with the application form to claim for application fee exemption.

18)   The filled in application, complete in all respects should be submitted to the Director, National Institute of Siddha, Tambaram Sanatorium, Chennai: 600 047. The last date for submission of the filled in application along with the attested photocopies of the certificates in support of age proof, educational qualification and experience etc. is 28.01.2012.

19)  Candidates applying for more than one post should send separate applications for each post.

20) Applicants should clearly write the Name of the Post, Advt. No and the method of recruitment i.e. Direct/Deputation on the top of the envelope in BOLD LETTERS.

21)  Incomplete applications and those received after the due date and also such applications which are not supported with attested photocopies of certificates and testimonials are liable to be rejected.

22)  Canvassing in any form will disqualify a candidate.
